Privacy Policy
SnapMatting is an independently operated background removal service. We aim to keep image handling lightweight and privacy-conscious, avoid using uploads for AI training, and minimize the personal data we retain.
1. Who Operates SnapMatting
SnapMatting (“SnapMatting,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is currently operated by an independent individual developer. The service provides browser-based image background removal for portraits, product photos, pet photos, profile pictures, and similar image-editing use cases.

If a law in your jurisdiction requires the operator’s legal name or mailing address for a formal request, please contact us by email and state the legal basis for the request.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Images you upload for processing
- Any message you send us by email or support request
- Any consent choices you make, if consent tooling is added in the future
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- IP address and network request metadata
- Browser type, operating system, device signals, and approximate region
- Operational, performance, security, and anti-abuse logs
- Cookie, local storage, or similar identifier data only if such tools are used for site functionality, consent, analytics, or advertising
3. How We Use Information
- To process the image request you submit
- To return the resulting cutout image to your browser
- To secure the service, investigate errors, and prevent abuse
- To monitor performance and reliability
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
- To support future advertising, consent, or analytics tooling if and when those features are added
4. Image Processing and Retention
- Your uploaded image is used only to perform the processing action you requested.
- We do not intentionally keep uploaded image content for long-term storage, AI training, or dataset building.
- During normal technical operation, short-lived copies or temporary files may be created as part of upload parsing, in-flight processing, buffering, security review, error handling, or system operations.
- Those temporary copies are not intended for long-term retention and are removed or overwritten under normal server operation.
- We may retain limited technical metadata and operational logs, but not the image content itself, for security, debugging, and reliability purposes.
5. AI Training Commitment
We do not use your uploaded images, processed outputs, or image-derived content to train, fine-tune, retrain, validate, or improve machine learning or AI models.
6. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
Today, SnapMatting is designed to run without accounts and with minimal data collection. We may add analytics, consent tools, or advertising features later, including Google AdSense or similar partners, but if we do, we will update this policy and any required consent experience before or when those tools are activated.
- Essential technical storage may be used to operate the site or remember interface settings.
- If non-essential analytics or advertising technologies are added, we will describe them here and, where required, request consent before using them.
- Advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, or similar technologies in accordance with their own policies and applicable law once such advertising is enabled.
7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers and devices may offer “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) or Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signals. Because there is no single universal technical standard for every service and jurisdiction, SnapMatting does not guarantee that every DNT signal is interpreted in the same way.
If we later add analytics or advertising technologies that require opt-out or consent handling, we will review whether GPC or similar signals must be honored in the jurisdictions where the service is made available.
8. Legal Bases for Processing
Depending on your location, we may rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a service you requested
- Legitimate interests, such as securing and operating the service
- Consent, where required by law
- Compliance with legal obligations
9. Sharing of Information
We may share limited information when reasonably necessary with:
- Hosting, CDN, security, and infrastructure providers
- Professional advisors, contractors, or service providers helping us operate the service
- Legal authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the service
- Advertising or analytics partners only if and when those tools are enabled
We do not sell your uploaded image content.
10. International Transfers
SnapMatting may use infrastructure or service providers located in multiple countries. If personal data is transferred across borders, we aim to use reasonable legal and operational safeguards appropriate to the service and the jurisdictions involved.
11. Data Retention
- Uploaded image content is intended to be transient and not retained as a long-term content archive.
- Short-term technical copies may briefly exist during upload handling and processing.
- Operational, security, and abuse-prevention logs may be retained for a limited period as reasonably necessary.
- Email correspondence or legal requests may be retained as needed to respond, document, and comply with legal obligations.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of personal data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis
- Request portability where required by law
- Appeal or complain to a regulator where available
To make a request, email touchfaceai@gmail.com. We may need enough information to verify and respond to your request.
13. Children’s Privacy
SnapMatting is not directed to children under the age at which parental consent is required under applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal data unlawfully, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
14. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect the service and the data processed through it. No system is perfectly secure, and you remain responsible for your own devices, browsers, accounts, and downloaded files.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and provide any further notice required by law.
